Canada\u00b4s immigration department has been focused on addressing post-pandemic recovery issues, such as labour shortage, and on growing the economy through immigration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In light of this, the Canadian government has reiterated its commitment to hitting more aggressive immigration targets on the following years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Although being a success, the Canadian immigration system needs to be updated and modernized in order to solve backlog issues left from the COVID-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
With this in mind, Canada\u00b4s government made an 85 million dollars economic and fiscal update investment to inject short term funds that will help bridge the immigration department into certain functionalities of the digital system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The immigration department established new programs for temporary residents that were already in Canada and that were affected by COVID-19 bureaucratic related issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Measures like increasing immigration levels, redirecting resources to the immigration department, and modernizing the system through digitalization are also being put into place to help Canada hit its ambitious targets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
These are permanent solutions directed not only to solving covid related issues, but to boosting productivity and efficiency within the department on a permanent basis for the next generations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
